At the bottom of our the forest, 600 meters away from the main entrance a railway can be found what leads to the plateau of Bükk, popular touristic destinations and 700 meters away two ponds can be found nourished from the sylvan spring, which is a really popular place also.

The unique, picturesque situation of Bambara hotel and the proximity of Eger provides nomerous program opportunities for guests.

Felsőtárkány railway

At the bottom of our the forest, 600 meters away from the main entrance a railway can be found in the romantic forest of Bükk, winding in the beautiful Vöröskő-Valley. From the terminus of the railway, departing from Stimecz-house, a woody trail waits visitors, who can have a look at the wildlife of South-Bükk during the 1,5 kilometers-long tour. Trails carry passangers at weekends and holidays- who want to take a trip and relax- but at request trains can be ordered on other days.

Felsőtárkány’s Lake

The Szikla- spring can be found at the north end of Felsőtárkány, at the base of the limestone wall near the entrance of inter-stone canyon. In the karst spring actually the hidden stream of Lök-Valley, found in South-West Bükk comes to the surface. The water of the source was bloated into a lake in the 18th century. The ambience of lake is landscaped, on the shore of it there is a trail, popular touristic destination.

Western Gate Training and Visiting Center-Karst and wildlife exhibition, Felsőtárkány- lake

The visiting center can be found at the end of forest trail near the hotel, on the shore of the lake. The exhibition shows a part of the Ancient Wood, and Big-Field by the changing of seasons with ensuing dioramas, the karst phenomens, and some typical habitat. The reconstruction of prehistoric cave shows how prehistoric men used the caves of karst as homeplace. Guests can have further details at the receptioon of exibition about the sites that can be visited, the sights of villages of Bükk and programs.

Visit of Eger

(exclusive program only for guests of Bambara)

• Roaming with torches after closing in the castle of Eger and the casemates.
• Walk in the castle of Eger, in the casemate system, and see the floodlit centre of Eger( Dobó Square, Minorita Church, Dobó Street, Basilica and Lyceum).

Opportunities for riding a horse in Felsőtárkány Karap barn-yard

Woody horse riding in the wonderful Bükk National Park, riding lessons in hungarian, english and german languages.

Anziksz in Felsőtárkány

In the settlement a craft workshop can be visited: presenting the cunnings of cooper and potter trade, after visitation the museum of local folk costumes.
